Sunday Lunch

Here's an easy Sunday lunch in the crockpot recipe. I miss our weekly fellowship dinners with our church in Thailand. Now I have to plan ahead on Sunday mornings and have something ready to go once we return from church.
This week I made Old Settlers Baked Beans with Corn Bread. This recipe was passed down from my great-grandmother Carrier-Mayes and I don't think she'd mind me sharing it here! It's so yummy (if you like beans!).

Mix together in large casserole dish; serve with cornbread. (Or mix in the crockpot and keep heated on low heat for a couple hours).
2 lbs. browned, drained hamburger
1 can red kidney beans
1 can butter beans
1 can pork and beans
1/3 cup brown sugar or 1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup ketchup
3 tsp. prepared mustard
Mix well. Bake covered 1 hour @ 350

I hope you'll enjoy it!

I love those beans. We call them either Hobo beans or Calico Beans. Either way, they are yummy. Sounds like a good meal to go with our early Americans study this year...if my kids would actually eat beans!
